Increase Traffic With Twitter Profile

Increase Traffic with an Optimized Twitter Profile

Robots and Friends Alike, Are Attracted to a Great Twitter Profile…

Twitter is one of those sites that both search engines and people, just “love”. And your personal Twitter profile is by extension… “a part of that love”. Yet, many people have yet to understand this, let alone grasp how Twitter can increase an online presence.

One of the most neglected yet most powerful aspects of Twitter is “your profile”. An optimized profile will get indexed in the search engines, increase (exponentially) your followers and drive traffic where you want it.

Because of that search love, it is not uncommon for a profile to quickly rank at the top of the search results for your keyword. And the best part is that you decide what those keywords are. How to do it? Surprisingly, it is as easy as setting up your account and Tweeting with friends.

Try these simple twitter profile tips and instantly you can have a profile optimized for both search robots and friends, alike…

The key to optimization is in the “how”. As in “how” you setup your profile.

First, it’s important to use your search terms in your “Bio”. “The One Line Bio” is under settings when logged in. It is only 160 characters, so use it wisely…

Let’s say you are a web graphics designer. You will want to have the term “web graphics designer” used in your bio.  If you serve a more specific area of the niche, then use those terms. For example, if you develop software for graphics, you may use the term “web graphics design software”. You get the idea…

Maria Andros has an exceptional bio for her expertise at http://twitter.com/mariaandros

“CEO I Empower And Teach Passionate Entrepreneurs Around The World to Make Money Attract New Clients A Celebrity Like Following w/ Fun Simple Video, Social Media”

Next, add your website url to the profile. A great use for this is to have the destination be an opt-in form. This will allow you to start building a list of targeted followers. A list of people interested in what you offer. A list that you own. And best… a list that you keep no matter what the future of Twitter may be.

Then, use a customized background that provides additional information about you and also “looks good”. People like “looks good”.

The background is easy to create and upload. It is saved as a picture file and under account/profile_settings, there is a link to change the “background image”…

Use your Picture in your profile. Twitter is a “social network” and people want to know who they are socializing with. Using a picture will personalize your profile and add “trust”. Research has shown that a familiar face is a trusted face.

Last and probably most important is your “content”. Twitter is a micro-blog and you are defined by what you put on your blog. No need to get crazy here… just post relevant information. Follow others that are potential customers, yes. Also, follow those that have expertise in your niche. Join in the conversations, use the RT often and #FF anyone of value.

What will happen is that your content will naturally be relevant to your interests, the SERPS recognize this and reward you with listings for keywords or search terms that define you. Very easy, simple and fun!

No doubt, Twitter is the “cats meow” for creating a meaningful presence on the internet.  Use the profile optimization listed and you are well on your way to being a “Twitter rock star”!  Oh, did I mention all the search engine love you’ll be getting, too?
